Rhododendron, Rosebay 
maximum var. roseum

Broadleaf evergreen with upright, open, loose form.  Flower trusses about 2 inches across are reddish in bud turning to soft pink in late June.  Blooms after most other hybrid rhododendrons are finished. Stems are reddish.

Large, dark green leaves are slightly crinkled.  Is the only rhododendron that will bloom in complete shade.

Plant in moist, cool, well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.  Ideal for tall hedge or screen and shade gardens.

Zone: 3-7 Height: 8-12 ft. Spread: 6-8 ft.
