This tree is incorrectly named, as its non-peeling bark is white with triangular black markings. Native to northeastern United States and eastern Canada.

Small, graceful tree with open conical crown and slender branches that droop toward the ground. Fall color is yellow.

Tolerates the poorest, direst soil to very wet conditions. Also, the branches are quite pliable and less likely to break from heavy snow, ice or high winds. Often planted in clumps 3 or more.

Zone: 4-6 Fast growing Height: 15-30 ft. Spread: 10-20 ft.
