Feather Reed Grass, Avalanche
Calamagrostis 'Avalanche'

Grass grows in vertical clump of striking variegated white centers contrasting with deep green margins.  Topped with pink-green plumes starting in mid-summer which turn silver tan as season continues.

Plumes remain attractive and upright even through winter.  Remains crisp and showy all year long.

Prefers evenly moist, rich, well-drained soil, but tolerates clay, dry, wet soils, drought and heat.  Use as vertical accent or in mass planting.  Grass is sterile, so mass planting can be done without fear of invasiveness.

Cut stems to ground in early spring before new growth.
