Maple, Red Acer rubrum Native to eastern U.S. Bright red flowers in early spring before leaves appear. Medium to dark green leaves turn yellow to brilliant red in fall. Dense foliage makes it a good shade tree. Pyramidal when young becoming rounded with age. Tolerates a wide range of soil types from poor, dry to wet and swampy.
