Mountainash, American
Sorbus americana

Native to northeastern North America.  Clusters of small white flowers after leaves appear in spring.  Red-orange berries in late summer often stay on tree all winter.

Dark green leaves in summer.  In fall, leaves are orange-yellow to reddish purple.

Light gray-brown bark is smooth to scaly. S hort trunk with spreading branches form narrow, open, round-topped crown.

Excellent specimen tree.  Also good on moist sites or wetland border areas.  Good for wildlife, birds and mammals eat berries.
